History of Health Corner
The Health Corner was developed in 1997 by the community (Rat River Health Council) for the community. It was meant to ensure that the new De Salaberry District Health Centre provided services for wellness in addition to illness. It is located next to the main entrance across from the lab services and is open to the public (unless a meeting or training is in session). The Health Corner included:
- Pamphlets covering a wide range of health topics, available for the taking.
- A public access computer for health-related internet research.
- Listing of books on a wide range of health topics, available at the local library.
- Presentations on a wide range of health topics.
